The problem is:
Natural shrimp stocks are being overfished,depleted and threatened with man-made diasters ,like oil spills.
Farmed shrimp from overseas shrimp farms use steroids,hormones and antibiotics to help increase production.Farmers will inject water into the shrimp to increase the weight since they're typically sold by the pound.Plus these farms are susceptible to all kinds of diseases from stocking density.And farm owners are destroying coastal mangrove habitat to increase their pond size and also polluting ground and coastal water from run-off and salt water.Plus not to mention the fact that they're sometimes using forced slave labor to work their farms and bottom trawling boats they use for shrimp feed.
