Midwest's Great Lakes region is the Lowest producing seafood region in the country for fresh or saltwater varieties.Yet most people that live on or near the coast never eat fresh saltwater shrimp unless they get it right off the boat at the dock.Even if it is Gulf or coastal shrimp it's still frozen then shipped inland.9 out of 10 times they're usually eating farmed then frozen,possibly thawed out several times over,shipped from overseas, freshwater prawns that were presented as fresh.
